Our Endorsement Process

Committee for a Better Jefferson follows a structured, member-driven process to evaluate and support candidates.

1. Candidate Questionnaire

Candidates seeking our support begin by completing a candidate information form giving our members insight into their background, positions, and priorities.

2. Interview (as warranted)

Based on the responses received, the committee may invite a candidate to interview with our members. Not every candidate who submits a questionnaire will be interviewed — this step is determined by the merits of each response.

3. Member Vote

Following an interview, members vote on whether to support the candidate. All decisions are determined by majority rule.

4. Support, If Approved

When a candidate receives CBJ's support, that support may take a variety of forms, including:

  • Formal endorsement

  • Public announcements or press releases

  • Campaign contributions

  • Fundraising activities
